Glendora Staggs Leigh, age 81, passed away on December 16, 2025, at St. Thomas-Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN. Glendora is survived by her two sisters, Sharon Eady and Lisa Haynes, two brothers, Bruce Staggs and Larry Staggs, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley Leigh, Jr., her parents, Monroe and Agnes Staggs, an infant niece, Lindsay Nicole Ledford, and an infant great-nephew, Lawson John Walker.
Glendora graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1962 and attended Draughon Business College in Nashville, TN. She had a successful career at the State of Tennessee and retired in 1996. Glendora and her husband, Jim, were married for 54 years and retired to their Brush Creek farm. She was a devout Christian and cherished spending time with her family and friends.
A private graveside service and inurnment for Glendora Staggs Leigh will be conducted at a later date at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will also have a Celebration of Life to honor her. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Pleasant Grove Cemetery or Friends of Lawrence County Animals. Neal Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
