Grady Byrd, 85, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on January 2, 2026. He was born on November 28, 1940, in Giles County, TN. Grady was a devoted husband to Allene Byrd for 62 years and a loving father to his daughter, Karen Lee Christian, and her husband, Barry. He was also a proud grandfather to Kara and Ali Christian.
Grady was a man of faith and service, finding solace and fellowship at the Eastside Church of Christ. He was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, and had a talent for refinishing furniture. He was known for his precision and patience in restoring pieces to their former glory.
Grady’s memory will be cherished by his sisters, Orlean Smith and Jean Williams, as well as by his many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Lee and Sadie Maultsby Byrd, and his brothers, Dean and Cleveland Byrd.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, and graveside services and interment will be conducted at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Graymere Missions, Graymere Church of Christ.
Grady will be remembered for his devotion to family, faith, and community, and his legacy of kindness and integrity will live on through his loved ones. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
