Tennessee State Fire Marshal, Carter Lawrence, made a significant visit to Lawrenceburg today to distribute funds to 12 out of the 16 Lawrence County fire departments. The funds were allocated from the State Fire Marshal’s Office’s Volunteer Firefighter Equipment and Training Grant Program as well as the Rescue Squad Grant Program. A total of $626,000 was granted to these departments, marking the highest amount awarded to any county in Tennessee.
The presentation ceremony took place at the Jason Dickey Training Center, where members of the 16 Lawrence County fire departments, along with state and local officials, gathered to witness the distribution of funds. Apart from the grant presentation, the event also marked the commencement of the Get Alarmed Tennessee program. This initiative aims to provide free smoke alarms to homeowners in need of such safety measures.

– Ethridge Fire Department: $21,795
– Henryville Fire Department: $21,545
– Westpoint Fire Department: $68,275
– Lawrence County Fire Rescue: $72,750
– Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department: $40,874.77
– St. Joseph Fire Department: $56,000
– West End Fire and Rescue: $81,130
– City of Loretto: $56,000
– City of Lawrenceburg: $43,400
– New Prospect: $33,500
