The Hardin County Sheriff’s Department is reaching out to the community to announce their observance of Project Blue Light on September 25. This initiative serves as a tribute to Deputy Matthew Locke, who tragically lost his life while serving in the line of duty. In honor of this fallen officer, residents are invited to participate by displaying a single blue light in their windows or as part of their porch lighting. For those who may not have access to a blue light, the department encourages simply leaving your porch light illuminated as a sign of remembrance and respect.
