The Lawrence County Health Department is set to provide complimentary flu vaccinations on Tuesday, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Individuals interested in receiving a flu shot do not need to possess insurance, nor is there a requirement to schedule an appointment in advance.
In addition to the standard flu vaccine, the Health Department is also offering high-dose flu vaccines specifically designed for individuals aged 65 and older. Similar to the standard vaccine, no prior appointment is necessary, and walk-ins are encouraged until 4 p.m. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advocates for the use of the high-dose vaccine for seniors, citing its enhanced effectiveness compared to the regular flu shot.
