The incident began when two individuals, donning ski masks, attempted to unlawfully enter a vehicle located on the premises. When the security guard intervened to prevent the break-in, he was shot in the process. Following the shooting, he was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical care.
The situation escalated as the suspects fled the scene, leading law enforcement on a lengthy pursuit that ultimately concluded in Scottsboro, Alabama, where their vehicle crashed. While the driver managed to escape on foot, the passenger, who had been shot during the incident, was apprehended by authorities. After receiving medical treatment, he was subsequently booked into the Madison County Jail on several charges. In a later development, the driver was also located and taken into custody, bringing the incident to a close.
