A woman from Huntsville was taken into custody following a series of hit-and-run incidents that occurred on Monday night, as reported by WAAY 31. The events unfolded on Triana Boulevard and involved a small black sedan and a white truck. The suspect, identified by Sgt. Chris Jackson of the Huntsville Police Department, is 33-year-old Julie Yvette Pinchon. Upon her arrest, officers noted a strong odor of alcohol emanating from her.
The sequence of events began when Pinchon allegedly collided with a vehicle near the intersection of Holmes Avenue and Triana Boulevard. Following this initial crash, she continued driving south, where she ran a red light and subsequently struck a truck on Governors Drive. The driver of the truck reported experiencing injuries but opted not to seek medical assistance.
As law enforcement attempted to apprehend her, Pinchon reportedly tried to escape the scene. During her evaluation by personnel from the Huntsville Fire Department, she allegedly spat on one of the firefighters. Consequently, she faces charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and assault with bodily fluids. The General Investigations Unit is currently examining the criminal case records associated with her actions of leaving the scene of an accident.
