The Huntsville Police Department has reported that a local woman is facing serious allegations of child abuse. Jessica Patterson Traweek, aged 35, took a child to the hospital for medical attention on March 28th. Concerns were raised when medical staff and others observed injuries on the child that appeared to be non-accidental in nature. In response to these findings, the Department of Human Resources was notified, and a safety plan was swiftly established to protect the child from any further harm while the investigation was carried out by the Special Victims Unit of the Huntsville Police Department.
As the investigation progressed, authorities uncovered evidence suggesting that Traweek had previously engaged in molestation of the child. Following the accumulation of this evidence, an investigator obtained an arrest warrant for Traweek from the Madison County District Attorney’s Office on April 25th. Detectives acted quickly, apprehending her on the same day. Traweek now faces charges of Aggravated Child Abuse, and as of now, there is no bond listed for her on the Madison County inmate registry.
