Authorities have identified the individual involved in the officer-involved shooting that took place on Sunday evening in Lewis County. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is conducting an investigation into the incident at the request of 32nd Judicial District Attorney General Hans Schwendimann. Initial reports suggest that a male suspect fired shots at a business in Hohenwald around 7:00 p.m. Deputies from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect’s vehicle on Highway 20 in Summertown. The circumstances leading to the shooting involving two officers, which resulted in the death of Jeffery Shane Hunt, are still under investigation.
