Important Education Meeting in Lawrence County

In a routine session, the Lawrence County Board of Education convened on Thursday, commencing with a brief attorney-client meeting before delving into a packed agenda. The discussions encompassed various policy updates and budget considerations, including bids for janitorial supplies, fuel, and floor care products. Director Adkins provided an overview, highlighting the diligent efforts of the Human Resource Department in filling vacancies resulting from retirements.

The conclusion of the summer school program was celebrated for its success over the past four weeks, with commendations extended to the dedicated teachers, staff, and faculty for their exceptional work. Furthermore, recognition was given to the Beta Clubs for their recent national competition in Georgia, where 100 students from Lawrence County participated, representing various schools within the system. Adkins also took a moment to acknowledge SRO Clay Wilson, who received the TNSRO President’s Award for his instrumental role in aiding a Leoma Elementary student in a life-threatening situation.
