On the evening of February 3rd, 2025, at approximately 8:00 PM, law enforcement officials from Florence responded to a report concerning a male individual lying in the street at the intersection of West Mobile Street and North Locust Street. Upon their arrival, officers found the man conscious but unresponsive to those around him. Eyewitness accounts revealed that the victim had been attacked from behind by a man who fled the scene before police could apprehend him. This assailant reportedly struck the victim in the head and continued to assault him while he was on the ground.
The injured man, aged 59, was subsequently transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital, where he remains in a state of non-responsiveness. Following an investigation, authorities identified the suspect as 47-year-old Fredrick Maurice Ingram, a resident of Florence, Alabama. Ingram was arrested on February 10th, 2025, due to unrelated charges. After his initial processing, law enforcement officials plan to serve him with a warrant for one count of Attempted Murder.
