In a recent report by Times Daily, a man is facing serious legal repercussions following a police chase that culminated in a crash in Muscle Shoals. The individual, identified as 31-year-old Michael Shane Taylor from Russellville, is currently facing a felony charge along with two misdemeanors. Court documents reveal that Taylor has been charged with two counts of second-degree attempted assault, driving under the influence, and attempting to evade law enforcement.
The incident unfolded when Taylor, while undergoing a field sobriety test, abruptly entered his Chevrolet Silverado pickup and sped away. Deputy Chief Ira Davis provided details on the situation, indicating that the pursuit led to a collision near Three Mile Island, specifically close to the intersection of Lilah Poppins Drive. Taylor’s vehicle ultimately overturned, landing on its left side.
Following the crash, Taylor was transported to North Alabama Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. After receiving medical care, he was subsequently taken to the Lauderdale County Detention Center. Remarkably, he was the only individual injured in this incident. Jail officials confirmed that Taylor was released the next day after posting a bond set at $10,500.
