On Monday, Sheriff Shane Fisher of Wayne County revealed that an inquiry has been launched regarding the passing of an inmate at the Wayne County Jail. According to Fisher, preliminary findings suggest that the death may be linked to medical issues, and there are currently no indications of foul play involved. In an effort to maintain transparency throughout the process, Fisher has sought the support of District Attorney Brent Cooper’s office to aid in the investigation.
