Last week, deputies from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation following an incident involving counterfeit currency at the Dollar General store located on Scenic Road. A customer allegedly used fake $20 and $5 bills to complete a transaction. According to the store manager, the individual made his purchase, received his change, and subsequently exited the store with both the items and the cash.
In the wake of this incident, law enforcement officials were able to gather a detailed description of the suspect, which has aided in forming a tentative identification. As of now, the investigation is ongoing, with authorities working diligently to resolve the matter and apprehend the individual involved.
