Irma Elizabeth Hamner Estes, age 96, of Killen, Alabama, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, in Labadie, Missouri. She was born on October 20, 1929, in Lauderdale County, Alabama. Irma was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her faith was central to her life, and she was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She will be remembered for her love of family, quilting, gardening, and her unwavering devotion to the Lord.
Irma is survived by her daughter, Georgina D. Overmann; her son, Kimball P. Estes; her sister, Martha H. Burrows; and her grandchildren, Gabrielle (Andrew) Kalkbrenner, Derek Schmiedeskamp, and Monica Schmiedeskamp. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Lucas and Elizabeth Kalkbrenner, Lily Anna Schmiedeskamp, and Maverick Calvin, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service for Irma will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Atlas Church of Christ Cemetery, with Greg Hamner and Tim Nichols officiating.
