J. D. Lovell, 82, of Leoma, TN, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025, at his residence. He was a retired truck driver from the Lawrenceburg Sanitation Department and was of the Baptist Faith. J. D. was preceded in death by his parents, Jim D. and Ruth P. McBride Lovell, his wife, Wanda Inman Lovell, one sister, Carolyn Marie Forsythe, and two brothers, Phillip Eugene Lovell and Howard Dean Lovell.
He is survived by two daughters, Denise Bassham (Theressa Prentice) and Sandy Woodard (Jim), two sons, Charlie Perry (Beth) and Ronald Bassham (Manuella), two brothers, James Franklin Lovell and Jimmy Dean Lovell, one sister, Linda J. Bivens, one grandchild, Shannon Prentice, and six great-grandchildren, Jada Brown, Trinity Patterson, Leeamber Langlois, Breanna Perry, David Bassham, and Jennifer Woodard.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Friday, January 24, 2025, with Tim Cunningham officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to the Friends of Lawrence County Animals (FOLCA) at folcatn.org.
