James Monroe Lawhorn

James Monroe Lawhorn, a beloved member of the Pulaski, Tennessee community, passed away on January 1st, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on October 8th, 1939, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, Monroe was a dedicated veteran of the US Army and a hardworking individual who held various roles, including being a delivery driver for Purity milk and owning and operating Winner’s Circle Market. He was known for his love of people and enjoyed delivering food to different factories.

Monroe will be remembered for his commitment to his country and his community. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Linda Lawhorn, and his son, Keith Lawhorn, both of Pulaski, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Rufus and Minnie Pearl Ward Lawhorn, as well as his siblings Wilma Johns, Virgina Johns, Annie Katherine Lawhorn, Thomas Lawhorn, Samuel Lawhorn, and R.J. Lawhorn.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 5th, 2025, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory, followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm in the chapel of the funeral home. The burial will take place at Wright Cemetery with military honors.

Monroe’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements for James Monroe Lawhorn. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
