James Roy “Jimmy” McDonald, Jr.

James Roy “Jimmy” McDonald, Jr., beloved husband, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025, in his hometown of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Born on October 17, 1951, in Lawrence County, TN, Jimmy was a cherished member of his community.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James McDonald, Sr. and Kathleen Gobble McDonald, as well as his brothers-in-law, Justin Prince, Randy Fisher, and Richard Fisher. He is survived by his devoted wife of 16 years, Darlene Fisher McDonald, and his brother, Jerry Lightfoot (Susie), extended family members, and his sisters, Linda Prince and Sherry Hughes (Gary).

Jimmy retired from Southern Shirt and was known for his love of the outdoors, particularly his fondness for horses and trail riding. He had a passion for western novels and shows, and his gentle spirit and love for laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate team at Arden Hospice, with special gratitude to Carla and Becky for their exceptional care and support during Jimmy’s final days, as well as special caregiver, Jessica. Their dedication to his comfort and well-being was a source of great solace to him and his loved ones.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, and the family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home, followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.
