Jay Harlin Dewberry, aged 69, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away on November 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on July 1, 1956, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Jay was a man whose zest for life was as infectious as his smile. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and music that will resonate with all who knew him.
Jay’s life was a testament to the power of hard work and dedication. He retired from Hughes Parker, where he was well–respected for his skills in industrial maintenance. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by his devotion to his faith as a member of the Pulaski Street Church of Christ. Jay’s involvement in his church and community reflected his belief in service and fellowship.
Music was the rhythm of Jay’s life, and he often said, “Music is Life.” His passion led him to play in a band, where he shared his joy for melody with others. Jay’s musical talent was recognized when he won second place in a Cruise Karaoke competition, a memory his family fondly recalls as a highlight of his many adventures. His love for music was a gift he gave to everyone around him, creating a soundtrack to many cherished moments.
An adventurer at heart, Jay soared the skies in ultra–light planes, embracing the freedom of flight. His adventurous spirit was matched by his love of travel, exploring new places, and making memories with his beloved wife, Darlene, and their family. Jay lived life to the fullest, embracing every opportunity with open arms and a fearless heart.
Known as a jack–of–all–trades, Jay could fix anything that was put in front of him. His hands were skilled, his mind was sharp, and his willingness to help others was boundless. He was the go–to person for family and friends whenever something needed repair, and he took great pride in his ability to solve problems.
Jay’s family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Dewberry of Lawrenceburg, TN; his son, Daniel Dewberry of Wilson County, TN; his daughter, Angie Springer of Lawrenceburg, TN; his grandchildren, Cassie Dewberry, Briana Martin (Vincent Blair), Brooklyn Staggs (Ethan), Alex Tullia, step–grandchildren Katie Bentley, Riley Springer, and Julie Cotton; and his great- grandchild, Hunter Staggs, as well as step–
