Jo Ann Chaffin Jennings, age 79, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, passed away on January 14, 2025. She was born on May 31, 1945, near Morrison’s Creek in Jackson County, Tennessee, and later moved to Lewisburg before settling in Lawrenceburg after her marriage to Cowart Jennings in 1967.
Jo Ann was known for her love of gardening, canning, and her skill as a seamstress. She found joy in attending her children’s and grandsons’ ball games. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Cowart Jennings; her son, Richard Jennings (Amy); her daughter, Pam Baskin (Kelby); grandsons, Dylan (Savannah) Baskin, Kaleb Baskin, Samuel Jennings, and Stephen Jennings; and her brother, Wayne Chaffin (Laurie).
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Lorene (Jones) Chaffin.
The family will receive friends at Neal Funeral Home on January 16, 2025, and funeral services will be held at Neal Funeral Home on January 17, 2025. Interment will follow at Mars Hill Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Jo Ann.
Jo Ann will be dearly missed by her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
