Joyce Faye Lackey, age 79, of Pulaski, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center. She was born in Lester, AL on June 28, 1946, to Bob Mason and Rose Magalene Musgrove Shoemaker. Joyce was a dedicated cook at the Pulaski Veterans Home, where she found joy in taking care of people, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also cherished the simple things in life, like going for drives and enjoying the outdoors.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Magalene Shoemaker, her brother Rickey Shoemaker, and her granddaughter Kayla Yearta. She is survived by her sons Wayne and Bobby Fusion, both of Pulaski; daughters Junita Taylor of Indiana, and Margie Yearta (Tim) of Goodspring; sister Barbar Wolfe (Paul) of Indiana; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12-2pm on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home, with the Funeral Service following at 2pm. Interment will be in Giles Memory Gardens. Carr and Erwin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Joyce will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
