Joyce Garner Taylor, age 77, of the Fall River Community, passed away on Sunday, October 26th, 2025 at her home in Leoma. Joyce was born on December 21st, 1947 to the late Luther Garner and Louise Garner in the Fall River Community. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and her love for her family was evident throughout her life. Joyce dedicated herself to raising her children and grandchildren, and in her later years, she found joy in serving her church community and volunteering in various organizations within her community.
She was a beloved member of Fall River United Methodist Church and was actively involved in running the card ministry and volunteering with groups such as the FCE group, the Fall River Community Club, and The Red Hat Society. In her leisure time, she enjoyed sewing and quilting, gardening, and cherishing moments with her loved ones. Joyce’s kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Taylor, and her brother, Larry Garner. She is survived by her children, Carolyn Miller (John), Kimberly Taylor, Justin Taylor; grandchildren, Lee Miller (Aaliyha) and Ian Miller, and great-grandson, Alarec.
Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Thursday, October 30th, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Friday, October 31st, 2025, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Fall River Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
