At the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club’s meeting on October 24, 2025, members had the pleasure of welcoming Stephanie Edwards, a representative from Jubilee Trading Company, as their guest speaker. Edwards captivated the audience with the compelling narrative behind the company’s dedication to fostering sustainable employment and uplifting lives through fair-trade practices. Operating under the guiding principle of “Together We Rise,” Jubilee Trading Company functions as a non-profit organization that aims to create meaningful job opportunities for those in need.
Currently, the organization employs artisans from Morocco and Kenya while also collaborating with various non-profits and local suppliers to offer a wide array of products. Orders are efficiently processed from their headquarters located on West Gaines Street in Lawrenceburg. Additionally, Jubilee Trading Company has established a partnership with The Shelter in Lawrenceburg, which allows them to provide transitional employment opportunities. These positions typically require a commitment of 10 to 12 hours per week, aimed at assisting individuals as they work to rebuild their lives.
While Jubilee maintains a physical storefront, the majority of its business operations are conducted online. The company showcases its products on platforms such as Etsy, with sales evenly split between retail and wholesale, each accounting for approximately 50% of their revenue. Those interested in exploring their offerings can visit their website at www.jubileetradingco.com.
In their local warehouse, Jubilee Trading Company manages up to seven distinct brands, all of which fall under the umbrella of “Gifts, Plants, Hope.” Each item available for purchase not only signifies a transaction but also embodies a job opportunity, a renewed sense of purpose, and a brighter future for individuals in need. The members of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club expressed their gratitude to Stephanie Edwards for her insightful presentation and for the unwavering commitment of her organization to both global and local service initiatives—principles that resonate deeply with Rotary’s own mission of “Service Above Self.”
