Judy Carolyn Shelby Lamar

Judy Carolyn Shelby Lamar, 74, passed away on Thursday morning, April 24th, 2024, at her home in Giles County. Born in Wales, Tennessee on May 22nd, 1948, Judy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was known as “Miss Judy” during her 20+ years as a pre-school teacher at the Growing Tree. Judy was also the former Director of the Giles County Help Center and a devoted member of the Second Street Church of Christ. She enjoyed scrapbooking, cross-stitching, reading, and solving crossword puzzles.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Audie Coell and Sallie Dee Boatright Shelby, her husband Thomas E. Lamar, her brother Edward Shelby, and her grandson Hunter J. Kimbrough. She is survived by her daughter, Tiffany (Joey) Kimbrough of Pulaski, Tennessee, her son, Tommy (Elisha) Lamar of Spring Hill, Tennessee, grandchildren Wes Kimbrough, Tory (Cat) Kimbrough, Sean Kimbrough, Jace Lamar, and Gretchann Lamar, sisters-in-law Anita Shelby and Ann Holly of Pulaski, Tennessee, brothers-in-law James (Beth) Lamar of Wartrace, Tennessee, and Ricky Lamar of Pulaski, Tennessee, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and other family members.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28th, 2025, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Bennett-May and Pierce Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm in the Chapel of Bennett-May and Pierce Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Jenkins officiating. The burial will follow in Giles Memory Gardens. Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Judy Carolyn Shelby Lamar.
