In the recent session of the 114th Tennessee General Assembly, State Representative Kip Capley, a Republican hailing from Summertown, has successfully secured reelection as the House Republican Caucus Secretary. In the absence of both the caucus chairman and vice-chairman, Capley will assume the responsibilities of secretary. His duties will include meticulously documenting the discussions that take place during caucus meetings and disseminating information regarding these discussions, as well as other significant matters, as directed by either the caucus chairman or the caucus itself.
Expressing his gratitude, Capley stated, “I thank my fellow members of the House Republican Caucus for reelecting me to serve as secretary. It’s a great privilege advocating for conservative principles in the State House, and I’m excited to continue our work making Tennessee an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.” Since taking on the role in 2023, Capley has been dedicated to fulfilling these responsibilities. He represents House District 71, which encompasses Wayne County along with parts of Hardin, Lawrence, and Maury counties, a position he first assumed after being elected in 2022.
