Court records reveal that a detainee at the Lauderdale County Detention Facility is facing serious allegations involving a minor. The individual, identified as Jamorious Deborois Vaughn, who hails from Athens, is accused of using a tablet within the facility to communicate with a 14-year-old girl. During this interaction, which took place on August 28, 2024, Vaughn allegedly solicited her to undress and engage in sexual acts.
Following these disturbing claims, Vaughn, who was 19 years old at the time of the incident, was apprehended on December 5, 2024. He now faces multiple charges, including electronic solicitation of a minor, two counts of possessing child pornography, and two counts related to the production of pornography involving a juvenile. His arrest on these charges occurred on January 9, 2025.
Additionally, Vaughn is linked to a separate case involving a robbery. A grand jury in Lauderdale County returned a one-count indictment against him in September 2024, charging him with first-degree robbery. This incident is believed to have taken place between April 26 and April 27, 2024. In connection with the robbery case, Vaughn has sought juvenile offender status, and a hearing regarding this matter is scheduled for March 4, 2025. He was initially arrested for the robbery on May 7, 2024, and remains in custody at the Lauderdale County Detention Facility as he awaits further legal proceedings.
