Law enforcement officials in Lawrence County made a significant discovery last week, recovering nearly $200 worth of counterfeit currency. The incident unfolded when a deputy was dispatched to Marshall Lane in Ethridge on April 25th to meet with a concerned individual who had stumbled upon the fake money while cleaning up trash near Highway 43 close to Three Oaks. The recovered counterfeit bills were promptly secured, packaged, and documented as evidence by the authorities. The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with pertinent information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
