The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners is set to convene for a special meeting today, Monday, August 25, 2025, at 5 p.m. This gathering will take place in Courtroom A of the Lawrence County Courthouse. Among the items on the agenda is a resolution that honors the Lawrenceburg Cal Ripken League 10-and-Under All-Stars for their impressive achievement in winning the 2025 Tennessee State Championship.
Additionally, the board will address the approval of notaries and consider a resolution that designates Lt. Anthony Washburn’s service weapon as surplus. This action is intended to formally present the weapon to him as a token of appreciation for his dedicated years of service with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.
Another significant topic for discussion will be a proposed contract with Combined Public Communications, LLC, aimed at providing inmate communication services at the county jail. The meeting is open to all members of the public, and those who wish to voice their opinions on any agenda items are encouraged to sign in before the session begins. Each speaker will be allotted a maximum of three minutes to share their thoughts.
