The Lawrence County Election Commission is scheduled to convene on Tuesday, January 14th, at 1:00 PM to carry out a Performance Audit related to the upcoming election on November 5th, 2024. This audit is mandated by the Tennessee Division of Elections, reflecting the state’s commitment to electoral integrity.
In a significant legislative move in 2022, the Tennessee General Assembly made amendments to the Tennessee Voter Confidence Act (TCA 2-20-103), which broadened the scope of post-election audits for County Election Commissions. These audits now encompass both pre-certification and post-certification processes, and they will be implemented for the November 2024 Election.
