Lawrence County EMS Publishes April Monthly Statistics

The Lawrence County Emergency Medical Services has published its statistics for the month of April, revealing a comprehensive overview of their operations. During this period, the department responded to a total of 564 requests for assistance, successfully transporting 384 patients to various medical facilities. In addition to local transfers to Southern Tennessee Regional Lawrenceburg, the service facilitated 56 transports to Maury Regional, 4 to Southern Tennessee Regional Pulaski, 27 to North Alabama Medical Center, and 35 to hospitals in non-adjoining counties.

The data also indicates that there were 116 instances where patients refused care or did not require any medical attention. Furthermore, there were 46 calls that were either canceled or resulted in no patient being found. The department also provided fire standby, law enforcement assistance, and mutual aid on 16 occasions, while engaging in community outreach activities on 4 separate occasions.

When comparing the call volume for April to that of the previous month, there was a slight decline noted from March 25th to April 24th. The department also prioritized education, offering courses on trauma during pregnancy, report writing, and the Advanced Medical Life Support Course. Additionally, two individuals successfully completed the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing training provided by the Tennessee Public Safety Network.

Community outreach initiatives included career presentations at local schools, a discussion on the Yellow Dot medical information program held at the Loretto Senior Center, and participation in a mock crash event at Loretto High School. This particular event aimed to highlight the importance of safe driving practices and the consequences of poor decision-making.
