David Morgan, the Executive of Lawrence County, has officially kicked off his campaign for a second term, placing a strong emphasis on key principles such as Government Transparency, Fiscal Conservatism, Economic Development, Education, and enhancing Quality of Life for residents. His announcement took place during the Republican Party’s Reagan Dinner, where he was joined by Congressman John Rose and U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn.
In his address, Morgan pointed to significant agricultural advancements within the county, revealing that nearly 8,000 acres of farmland have been added. He proudly noted that Lawrence County now ranks third in Tennessee for the number of young farmers, highlighting the region’s commitment to fostering a new generation in agriculture. Under his leadership, several economic development initiatives have been launched, including substantial industrial investments from companies like Blickman Industries and Magna International. These efforts are complemented by strategic land acquisitions and infrastructure enhancements designed to facilitate future growth.
Morgan’s administration has also prioritized public safety and quality-of-life enhancements. This includes increasing staffing levels and salaries for emergency medical services and fire personnel, as well as introducing new ambulance coverage and mobile convenience centers. Additionally, road repairs are underway, and plans for a new Health Department building are in the works. In the realm of education, initiatives have been implemented to raise teacher salaries, expand mental health services, and upgrade facilities throughout the county.
