Late on the night of August 11, Lawrence County Fire Rescue (LCFR) was engaged in a flurry of emergency responses, tackling several incidents in rapid succession. The first call came in shortly after 10:30 p.m., prompting units from the Center Point station to rush to a vehicle fire located on Dixon Branch Road, just beyond the city limits of Loretto. Given the fire’s location, an automatic aid engine company was summoned to provide additional support. Firefighters collaborated effectively to bring the fire under control in a timely manner.
Simultaneously, LCFR crews were dispatched to investigate a potential structure fire on Ethridge Red Hill Road, where reports indicated smoke emanating from the attic of a residence. Responding swiftly, several units from the Ethridge Fire Department arrived on the scene, quickly identifying the source of the smoke and resolving the issue. As the situation was brought under control, automatic aid units from Lawrenceburg Fire and the Henryville station were canceled while en route, as their assistance was no longer needed.
The night continued to be busy for LCFR, as they received another call at 11:39 p.m. for mutual aid on Walker Road in the adjacent Lewis County. Initial reports suggested that a camper, being utilized as a residence, along with a vehicle, was ablaze and posed a threat to a nearby structure. Units from both Summertown and Ethridge Fire departments also responded to the scene. Upon arrival, the first LCFR crews confirmed that the camper was fully engulfed in flames. Acting swiftly, firefighters worked diligently to extinguish the fire and prevent further damage.
