The Lawrence County 4-H Beekeeping Essay Contest is now open for entries, providing an excellent opportunity for 4-H members to enhance their writing and research abilities. Participants are encouraged to craft an essay centered around a topic related to beekeeping. Notably, those who excel in this contest may be eligible for cash prizes at both the state and national levels.
For the year 2025, the chosen theme is “The Importance of Youth in Beekeeping: How 4-H Members Can Make a Difference.” In their essays, 4-H students are expected to address several key questions. These include the significance of youth involvement in beekeeping, the ways in which 4-H members can contribute positively to the field, strategies for encouraging more young individuals to engage in beekeeping, personal aspirations as a beekeeper, and examples of significant contributions made by young beekeepers to the industry.
All essays must be submitted via email to [email protected], and participants should also send a copy of their work to [email protected]. The deadline for submissions is set for March 15th, 2025, so interested participants are encouraged to start their research and writing soon.
