**Lawrence County Board of Education Meeting Agenda**

**Work Session Scheduled for August 21, 2025, at 3:30 p.m.**
The meeting will commence with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a roll call of members.
**Policy Items for Review and Discussion**
The board will consider several policy items, including Policy 1.404, which pertains to Appeals and Appearances Before the Board, and Policy 6.303, which addresses Interrogations and Searches. Additionally, Policy 6.200 regarding Attendance and Policy 6.2002 concerning Chronic Absenteeism will be discussed.
**Regular Meeting Agenda for August 21, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.**
The session will begin with the Pledge of Allegiance and a roll call. Following this, there will be a segment dedicated to recognizing the Character Trait of the Month within the Lawrence County School System (LCSS).
An update on Capital Projects will be provided, featuring reports from Doss Brothers and ESG. The public will then have the opportunity to voice their comments.
**Consent Items for Group Voting**
The board will vote on several consent items collectively, which include the adoption of the agenda, approval of minutes from the June 26, 2025 meeting, and the business report. The approval of volunteers and overnight field trips will also be on the agenda. Notable trips include an educational excursion to Washington, D.C. for EES/NPS students from June 2-5, 2026, and a District Key Club Fall Rally in Pigeon Forge, TN from October 17-19, 2025. Additionally, various baseball tournaments for LCHS will be discussed, including events in Gulf Shores, AL from March 8-13, 2026, and playoffs in Huntsville, AL and Murfreesboro, TN in March and May 2026, respectively. The LCHS Beta Club will also seek approval to attend the State Beta Convention in Nashville, TN from November 20-22, 2025.
**Report Items**
The board will receive updates on safety, personnel, and attendance from the Director. Furthermore, information regarding the Lawrence County Education Association (LCEA) and the Tennessee Legislative Network will be shared
