On April 28th, Lawrence County Schools hosted the CTE Night of Stars 2025 at the Historic Crockett Theater, an event dedicated to honoring students from elementary through high school across all schools in the district. This special evening was designed to celebrate the remarkable achievements of students in the realm of career and technical education (CTE).
Students were acknowledged for a variety of accomplishments, including earning industry-recognized certifications, achieving CTE program completer status, and actively participating in career and technical student organizations. Additionally, their efforts in work ethic, community service, and leadership were highlighted, showcasing how these young individuals blend academic knowledge with hands-on skills and experiences. They serve as exemplary models of what it means to be prepared for the future.
The programs represented during the event spanned a wide range of fields, including Agriculture, Automotive, Business, Construction, Cosmetology, Digital Design, Drone Technology, Engineering/STEM, First Lego League, Health Science, Human Services, Skills USA for middle school students, Teaching as a Profession, and Welding.
In addition to recognizing the students, the evening also paid tribute to faculty members who are retiring after years of dedicated service to the CTE programs. Sherry Stout, Sheryl Hester, and Jana Long were honored for their contributions and commitment to education.
The school board expressed heartfelt gratitude to the families, teachers, sponsors, and community partners who played a vital role in celebrating student success and making the event a reality.
