On Monday, April 21st, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office received a report regarding a burglary that took place at 10 Busby Road in Loretto. Upon their arrival at the scene, law enforcement officials engaged with a male resident who detailed the situation. He explained that when he returned to the property, which had been unoccupied, he discovered that the doorknob to the outside storage room had been forcibly removed.
According to the homeowner, the suspect had gained entry into the residence after breaking the doorknob and proceeded to steal the hot water heater from the storage area. It was noted that the pipes connected to the heater had been severed at the top, and the appliance itself was missing. Fortunately, the rest of the house appeared untouched, with no other doors disturbed and no additional items reported as stolen. The homeowner indicated that he planned to reach out to his homeowner’s insurance provider to inform them of the incident and initiate any necessary claims.
