Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office Handles 1,120 Calls in July

In July, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office was busy, responding to a total of 1,120 calls for service, which culminated in 205 arrests across various incidents. Among the cases addressed by deputies were 38 instances of domestic violence, alongside 19 mental health transports. The department also investigated 21 cases of fraud and 19 thefts, demonstrating the diverse nature of their workload.

Additionally, deputies dealt with 9 reports of vandalism and responded to 33 burglar alarms, indicating a proactive approach to community safety. Traffic enforcement was a significant focus, with officers conducting 86 traffic stops and reporting 32 traffic accidents. The department also looked into 36 calls regarding suspicious persons or activities, as well as managing 45 complaints related to animals.

In terms of civil duties, the office served 254 civil processes and provided 15 funeral escorts, reflecting their commitment to community service beyond law enforcement. Notably, there were no deployments of SWAT teams or Taser usage during this month.
