Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office Handles 1,157 Calls in October

In the month of October, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office was active in responding to a total of 1,157 calls for service, which culminated in 155 arrests. According to WLX, deputies were engaged in various law enforcement activities, including conducting 160 traffic stops and addressing 34 vehicle accidents.

Among the diverse range of incidents reported, the department dealt with 39 cases of domestic violence, alongside 18 thefts and 16 instances of fraud. Additionally, there were 15 reported suicide attempts and seven cases of vandalism. The Sheriff’s Office also managed a significant number of civil processes, totaling 248, and responded to 81 calls related to animal issues.

Furthermore, deputies investigated 30 reports of suspicious persons or activities, provided 19 funeral escorts, and facilitated 18 mental health transports. They also responded to 18 burglar alarms and assisted motorists on 16 occasions. Notably, there were no incidents requiring SWAT or Taser deployments throughout the month.
