Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office Publishes Activity Report for June 2025

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office has published its monthly report, providing insights into law enforcement activities for June 2025. The report reveals that deputies responded to a total of 1,088 calls for service, which encompassed a wide array of issues, including civil disputes, criminal investigations, and public safety concerns.

Among these calls, law enforcement made 311 arrests, indicating a consistent level of enforcement during the summer month. Additionally, deputies executed 122 traffic stops and were involved in responding to 35 vehicle accidents throughout the county. The report highlights a troubling trend in domestic violence, with 45 incidents documented. Furthermore, the department facilitated 24 funeral escorts, managed 19 mental health transports, and addressed 11 suicide attempts, showcasing the diverse range of community support and crisis intervention services provided by deputies.

In terms of reported criminal activity, the sheriff’s office noted several incidents, including 10 thefts, 10 cases of vandalism, and 9 instances of fraud. The department also recorded 22 burglar alarms and 30 reports of suspicious individuals or activities. Animal-related calls were significant as well, with officers responding to 62 such incidents, a noteworthy figure during the summer months. Importantly, there were no SWAT team activations or Taser deployments reported for the month, suggesting that most situations were effectively managed without resorting to force.

Despite the high volume of service calls, the sheriff’s office reported no SWAT activations or Taser use, reflecting a commitment to resolving incidents peacefully.
