Lawrenceburg City Council Endorses Agenda and Appoints New Parks and Recreation Director

On Thursday, January 8, the Lawrenceburg City Council convened and successfully passed all items listed on their agenda. Among the significant decisions made was an adjustment to the fees associated with refuse and trash disposal services. Additionally, the council approved the rezoning of a section of the John P. Sharp Family Trust property located on Flatwoods Road, changing its designation from R-1 (Large Lot Residential) to I-1 (Light Industrial).

In a move to enhance local law enforcement capabilities, the council also authorized the acquisition of a 2025 Ford Interceptor Utility AWD vehicle for the Police Department. Furthermore, they declared certain items from the Police Department as surplus, allowing for better management of resources.

The meeting also featured a moment of recognition as the city honored Pam Hyde, the outgoing Parks & Recreation Director, with a retirement award. In a related development, Eric Shultz was confirmed as her successor, stepping into the role of Parks & Recreation Director.
