The Lawrenceburg City Council is scheduled to convene on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 9 a.m. The meeting will take place in the Council Meeting Room located within the Municipal Complex at 25 Public Square. Individuals who wish to address the council regarding any items on the agenda are required to sign in prior to the commencement of the meeting.
The session will kick off with public hearings focused on Ordinances 1438 and 1439, both of which propose amendments to the city’s zoning ordinance. Following these hearings, the council will deliberate on a series of ordinances that are on the agenda.
Among the ordinances to be discussed is Ordinance 1438, which represents the second reading of an amendment to the city’s zoning ordinance. Similarly, Ordinance 1439 will also undergo its second reading as it seeks to amend the zoning ordinance. Additionally, Ordinance 1440 will be reviewed, which aims to enhance the zoning ordinance by introducing new sections that outline updated site plan requirements, including improved mapping and design standards, and this will also be in its second reading.
The council will also consider Ordinance 1441, which pertains to the first reading of an amendment to the municipal code that regulates taxicabs and their definitions. Furthermore, Ordinance 1442 will be introduced for its first reading, proposing amendments to the budget appropriations for the city’s general fund for the fiscal year 2025–2026. In addition, Ordinance 1443 will be presented for its first reading, which seeks to amend the budget appropriations for the general fund for the fiscal year 2024–2025.
In addition to the ordinances, several resolutions are on the agenda for consideration. These include amendments to various prior resolutions concerning salary supplements for specific city employees. The council will also review a proposal from TTL for final engineering services aimed at improving pedestrian crossings at David Crockett State Park and along Old Waynesboro Highway (SR 242) as part of the MMAG grant project.
Another proposal under consideration is from Bridgepoint LLC, which offers engineering and construction administration services for the extension of Springer Road from Mattoxtown Road to Little Shoal Creek. The council will also look to reappoint Charles “Butch” Newell and Peyton Sockwell to the Lawrenceburg Beer Board. Lastly, the meeting will address a request to authorize the Lawrenceburg Police Department to procure four 2025 Dodge Durango SUVs through a state bid contract with Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Columbia.
