The Lawrenceburg City Council is scheduled to convene at 9 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, in the Council Meeting Room located within the Municipal Complex at 25 Public Square. Individuals who wish to speak on agenda items are required to sign in prior to the commencement of the meeting.
Among the items slated for discussion are two ordinances and a series of resolutions. The first ordinance, numbered 1444 and set for its second reading, aims to amend the Municipal Code by introducing Chapter 5, which pertains to Mobile Vending. The second ordinance, 1445, is up for its first reading and seeks to rezone a property situated at 212 Pulaski Street, currently owned by Maria Christensen. This property is proposed to be transitioned from a C-3 (General Commercial District) designation to a C-1 (Central Business District) classification, facilitating the establishment of office space on the ground floor and a residential unit above. It is important to note that this rezoning will necessitate a special exception from the Zoning Board of Appeals.
In addition to the ordinances, several resolutions will be reviewed. One resolution aims to nullify a prior ordinance that authorized the acquisition of four Dodge Durango SUVs for the Police Department, instead endorsing the purchase of four Ford Interceptor Utility AWD vehicles from Lonnie Cobb Ford in Henderson. Other resolutions on the agenda include the declaration of certain items from the Police Department as surplus, the authorization of an agreement with Govwell for permit system software intended for the Codes and Zoning Department, the city’s application for a Transportation Planning Grant, and the acceptance of a proposal from Poplar Hill Companies for lighting enhancements at the Police Station, 911 Center, and Fire Hall, all part of the broader Lawrenceburg Municipal Lighting Project.
