The Lawrenceburg City Council is set to convene for its upcoming regular meeting on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. This gathering will take place in the Council Meeting Room, situated within the Municipal Complex at 25 Public Square. Residents who wish to express their views on agenda items are required to sign in before the meeting commences.
A public hearing is scheduled to discuss Ordinance 1435, which seeks to amend the city’s zoning ordinance. The proposed changes focus on administrative procedures, enforcement measures, penalties, and the associated fee structures. Following this hearing, the council will deliberate on several ordinances, some of which will be considered for second readings while others will be introduced for the first time.
Among the ordinances up for discussion is Ordinance 1435, which aims to revise multiple sections of the city’s zoning ordinance to enhance the processes for amendments, enforcement penalties, and fee structures. Additionally, Ordinance 1436 will be presented, which establishes a comprehensive fee schedule pertaining to planning, zoning, and permitting, while also modifying various existing sections of the ordinance.
Ordinance 1437 proposes updates to the city’s policy regarding the dumpster collection system by amending the relevant section of the municipal code that governs refuse and trash disposal. Furthermore, Ordinances 1438 through 1440 will introduce additional amendments to the city’s zoning ordinance, including new requirements for site plans and various administrative updates. These amendments will be addressed during their first reading.
In addition to the ordinances, the council will also vote on several resolutions. One resolution seeks to authorize Mayor Blake Lay to finalize the sale of property, a transaction that has already received approval from the Lawrenceburg Utility System (LUS) Board, to Doss Brothers. Another resolution involves approving an agreement with Diebold Nixdorf, Inc. for the installation of a pneumatic tube system equipped with cameras in the LUS drive-through area. Lastly, the council will consider declaring certain property from the Police Department as surplus, which will be disposed of in accordance with the city’s purchasing policy.
Residents are encouraged to participate and attend this important meeting.
