Lawrenceburg City Council to Discuss Zoning Regulations, Waste Management Policies, and Acquisition of Sanitation Department Equipment at July 10 Meeting

The Lawrenceburg City Council is set to hold a meeting on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. This gathering will take place in the Council Meeting Room, situated within the Lawrenceburg Municipal Complex at 25 Public Square. Members of the public are welcome to attend, and those who wish to address the council regarding agenda items are required to sign in before the meeting commences.

During this session, council members will review two ordinances that are scheduled for their first reading. The first, Ordinance No. 1436, proposes modifications to the city’s Zoning Ordinance, specifically Ordinance No. 789. The proposed amendments focus on the administration and enforcement of zoning regulations, with the intent to streamline and clarify the fee structures associated with planning, zoning, and permitting processes by revising several earlier ordinances.

The second ordinance under consideration, Ordinance No. 1437, aims to amend Title 17 of the Municipal Code, which pertains to the city’s refuse and trash disposal policies. This amendment seeks to update the existing policy governing the city’s dumpster collection system, particularly Section 17-103, which addresses regulations concerning garbage containers.

Furthermore, the Council will deliberate on a resolution that would authorize the Lawrenceburg Sanitation Department to acquire a new 2025 GMC Sierra 2500 4WD Crew Cab from Wilson Motors. The decisions made during this meeting will have significant implications for city operations and services, and community involvement is highly encouraged.
