Lawrenceburg City Officials Invite Proposals for City Hall Roof Repair Project

The City Hall of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, housed in a three-story structure originally built as a bank in the 1970s, is in urgent need of extensive repairs. In light of this, a Request for Proposals (RFP) has been issued, inviting qualified roofing contractors to submit their proposals for either roof replacement or repair. These proposals should include detailed information regarding costs and timelines for the project.

One of the key projects under consideration is related to the HVAC system. The City has recently undertaken significant maintenance work on the HVAC units located on the roof of City Hall. This RFP has been strategically scheduled to follow the completion of that maintenance, ensuring that no other projects will interfere with the roof work in the near future.

City Hall is situated in the historic Town Square, and as such, it is subject to specific Historic Guidelines. However, it is anticipated that there will be minimal historic requirements for the roof replacement, unless the proposed changes would substantially alter the building’s façade.

Interested contractors will have the opportunity to inspect the roof on Monday, March 17th, at 8:00 AM. It is important to note that no tools will be provided for this evaluation. Proposals must be submitted by Friday, April 25th, 2025, at noon. Responses, along with any necessary supporting documents, should be directed to Dick McKinley, the City Administrator, via email at [email protected].
