Lewis County Government Unveils New Recycling Trailers

Lewis County Government is excited to announce the installation of two new full-time Recycling Trailers, conveniently located in the parking lot next to the Public Library and Courthouse. This initiative aims to provide residents with greater flexibility, allowing them to recycle at their convenience, as both trailers will be accessible around the clock, every day of the week.

The trailers serve distinct purposes: Trailer One is designated solely for cardboard materials, while Trailer Two is intended for aluminum cans, #1 and #2 plastics, and clear milk jugs. In order to maintain the efficiency and availability of these recycling resources, the County urges the community to adhere strictly to the guidelines regarding what can be deposited in the trailers. To ensure compliance, surveillance cameras have been installed, and it is important to note that placing trash or unauthorized items in the trailers is strictly prohibited.

For those looking to recycle additional materials, the Lewis County Transfer Station, located at 641 Waynesboro Highway, continues to accept a broader range of items. This includes cardboard, aluminum, glass, metal, electronics, oil, paper, tires, and various plastics. The Transfer Station operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
