Lewis County Transfer Station Collaborates with “America’s Thrift Stores” for Clothing Donation Initiative

The Lewis County Government is thrilled to announce a new initiative aimed at recycling used clothing in partnership with “America’s Thrift Stores.” This collaboration allows residents to conveniently dispose of their unwanted garments in designated recycling bins located outside both the Upper and Lower Garbage Buildings. Once collected, the clothing will be sold by America’s Thrift Stores, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting “Make-A-Wish of Middle Tennessee.”

In addition to clothing and shoes, the recycling program also welcomes a variety of household items such as pillows, towels, bed linens, and bath rugs. This initiative comes at an opportune moment, as many individuals are likely to be decluttering their wardrobes following the holiday season and the influx of new clothing gifts.

The Transfer Station is open for donations from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this recycling opportunity during these hours. For further details about the recycling options available at the Transfer Station, please visit the Lewis County Government’s official website at https://www.lewiscountytn.com/.
