A man from Lincoln County has been apprehended as a result of a comprehensive drug investigation spearheaded by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI). On July 11, TBI special agents collaborated with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the Fayetteville Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to carry out a search warrant at a residence located on the 300 block of Walnut Avenue.
During the operation, law enforcement officials uncovered a variety of drugs, drug paraphernalia, and firearms. However, authorities have yet to disclose the specific types of drugs that were confiscated during the search. The individual arrested in connection with this case is Edward Marquis Askins, a 40-year-old man who now faces multiple charges. These charges include possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, as well as possession of both Schedule II and Schedule VI drugs.
Following his arrest, Askins was processed at the Lincoln County Jail. He has since been released after securing an $82,000 bond. The investigation continues as authorities work to address the ongoing issues related to drug activity in the area.
