In a puzzling case, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is currently delving into the disappearance of around 64 cows from a local farm. The investigation was initiated after the farm owner reported the missing cattle on Sunday, noting a significant drop in numbers from the previous day’s count.
The owner had conducted a headcount on Thursday, tallying up to 199 cows, only to find 135 remaining on Friday. Strangely, there were no signs of forced entry or tracks from vehicles in the vicinity of the 500-acre farm situated near Highway 20 in the Summertown area.
The stolen cows are identifiable by an S3 brand mark, with the estimated value of the loss amounting to $70,000. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist the ongoing investigation by contacting the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
