In an effort to enhance home safety, residents are encouraged to reach out to their local fire department for assistance with obtaining working smoke detectors. The Tennessee Fire Marshal’s Office has collaborated with various fire departments to launch a “Smoke Alarm Blitz” as part of the Get Alarmed program. This initiative, aimed at saving lives, offers the provision and installation of functional smoke detectors at no cost. To avail of this service, individuals seeking working smoke detectors can get in touch with their nearby fire station or send a message via the Lawrence County Fire & Rescue Tennessee Facebook page.
